99ers signed top defender Tremblay

34 years old Yannick Tremblay will play next season at the Moser Medical Graz 99ers – after 390 NHL games. Last season the canadien defender played at Straubing Tigers in the DEL.

Yannick Tremblay is a classical offensive defender who played 390 NHL games in the teams of Toronto Maple Leafs, Atlanta Trashers and Vancouver Canucks. 2008/09 he didn’t played and last season he played in the DEL at Straubing Tigers.

I’m happy about this new challenge. I want to help the Moser Medical Graz 99ers to come into the semifinals or finals”, the strong defender is looking forward to his premiere in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. He is preparing his fitness with
Jean Philippe Paré at the same fitness club. He also played with another new team workmate, Warren Norris, in 1998 at St. John’s Maple Leafs.

Especially in the powerplay he had strong performances and Headcoach Bill Gilligan is convinced that “with Darcy Werenka and Yannick Tremblay we now have two powerplay specialists. Tremblay showed his skills in the best league of the world. The Moser Medical Graz 99ers are happy to have such a player in their roster”.
