12 teams - 5 countries - HC Bozen affiliated
HC Bozen is affiliated by all the elf clubs as the twelfth participating team in the Erste Bank Eishockey League. Plus: Schedule of 2013-14 already released.
Also in the, at the 8th of September starting championship of the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga, twelve teams from five different countries will participate in the league.
All eleven clubs decided to accept the intake of HC Bozen, who already fulfilled all criteria for their participation last Friday. The South Tyroleans will take the spot of Medvescak Zagreb, who decided to play in the Russian KHL-League next season.
„After substantial negotiations we managed to get a new, twelfth team in our league and got the unanimous assent of the other clubs”,is League-manager Christian Feichtinger happy about the positive decision for the intake of Bozen and adds: “Now together with the organization of HC Bozen the intensive preparation for the coming season starts!”
With the positive end of the application of Bozen, who won the Italian championship 19 times, also the schedule of the season could be released.
44 games will be played by each team in the regular season, that starts at the 7th of September with the game between Dornbirner Eishockeyclub and EC VSV and end at the 12th of January.
At the 17th of January a Pickround (1st to 6th place) and a Playoff-Race (7th to 12th place) will be played and finally at 07th of March the Best of Seven Quarterfinals will start. The semifinals and the finals will be played in a Best of Five-Series. The new champion will latest be elected at the 13th of April.
