According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence, the player Arpad Mihaly (#23) of SAPA Fehervar AV 19, time 45:58, made contact from behind of an opponent. By the Referee a 5 Minute Match Penalty for Hit to the Head was called, rule number 540 of the IIHF Rule Book.

The boards become somewhat of a weapon and the ability to the opponent to self protect was eliminated as the opponent was unaware of the impending hit.
