Znojmo defeated by Lausitzer Füchse

HC Orli Znojmo lost a friendly game at home against the German team Lausitzer Füchse with 2:3. For the Eagles scored Riha and Podesva. The last test follows on Tuesday (17:00) at Jihlava!

Znojmo were far from their best as their lost out to German side Lausitzer Füchse in their penultimate test game. After 90-minute delay caused by a road accident of Lausitzer team, Eagles started as the stronger team and pushed their opponent towards their own goal. They earned two early powerplays, but goalkeeper Boutin was alert and remained unbeaten. Longer the Eagles tried to break down the defense of their opponent, more dangerous were the visitors on their breaks and 13 seconds before the end of first period, Chris Straube finished one of them with an expert finish.

Home fans were craving for more tempo and excitement, but Foxes focused on solid defense and Znojmo were unable to find an opening and paid the price early in the second period. Florian Brenninger converted Derlago pass at the right post and it was 2-0 to Foxes. The play took place near center ice and there was little to offer from both teams. Vladimir Riha pulled one back for Eagles in the 31st minute with a wristshot from blue line.

However, Danny Albrecht was one of the best players for the visitors and earned himself a goal on a quick counterattack eight minutes from time. Martin Podesva was able to find the net from the slot in the very last minute, but Eagles lost out and will be disappointed with their performance.
