Medvescak pick up Morency!
KHL Medvescak Zagreb have signed Right Wing Pascal Morency from Houston Aeros to cover for the temporary loss of Joel Prpic. In the mean time, EC Rekord-Fenster VSV play ATSE Graz tomorrow and EC-KAC held their start of the season press conference.
KHL Medvescak Zagreb swiftly reacted to the injury that sidelined Joel Prpic. 29 years old right wing Pascal Morency joins the Bears. The Winger has spent the past four seasons with the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers, and Houston Aeros as well as the ECHL’s Bakersfield Condors. Marty Raymond coached there, so it’s quite logical for the Headcoach to pick up a player he knows well. Morency had been voted onto the ECHL All-Star team last year and is famed for his precise shot. He had 31 points from 39 games in his last season with Bakersfield and recorded 119 PIM en passant. Morency will debut at the Ferdo Spajic memorial at the weekend. In the mean time, Medvescak made a decision on Adam Naglich. He impressed on try-out and has been handed a year-long contract.
VSV test, use young players
EC REKORD-Fenster VSV take on ATSE Graz at home in a test match that will see a lot of youngsters play, Headcoach Michael Stewart confirms Roland Kaspitz, Tomaz Razingar, Nicolas Petrik, Benjamin Petrik, Gerhard Unterluggauer, Goalie Bernhard Starkbaum, Pierre-Luc Sleigher and Craig Weller will all be left out. The second tier-team from Graz is something of an affiliate to the Eagles with Headcoach Martin Hohenberger, Director of Sports Herbert Hohenberger and Cracks Manuel Skacal, Daniel Stefan, Martin Pewal, Marc Brown, Jürgen Tschernutter, Stefan Wiedmaier and Michael Mana all having a past in Tirolerstrasse.

KAC stick to six imports- for the moment
Just five import players will be at the disposal of Manny Viveiros for the start of the season while Goalie Andy Chiodo is out. Defenders Mike Siklenka and Kirk Furey, and forwards Tyler Scofield, Tyler Spurgeon and John Lammers are the only non-Austrian Players on the 23-player roster of the Carinthians. The Nationalliga-team has 22 and 22 more remain available from the sub-17-equipe. “The Rule changes mean that players can go up and down easily, which means we can provide them with the chances they deserve in the first team”, says Director of Sports, Dr. Helmuth Reichel, who also claimed: “we’re looking for our thirtieth title!”. 3.800 season tickets have been sold already.
