At Jesenice Headcoach Heikki Mälkiä welcome today for the first time young Slovenian Ziga Grahut at the practice. The young defender is tested by the Red Steelers in the Pre-Season. Last the 21-year-old Slovene played for ATSE Graz in Austrian Nationalliga. If Ziga Grahut plays already on Friday against HC Orli Znojmo is not sure yet. But latest next week at Rudi-Hiti-Sommercup in Bled fans will see the young defender in the HKJ-jersey.

Ziga Grahut is no stranger in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga: The young defender played already in the season 2009/10 53 league-games for the Moser Medical Graz99ers and scored five points - including one goal. The 21-year-old defender learned to play hockey at HK Celje. After playing for HK Maribor and SD Alfa in Slovenia Grahut moved 2008/09 for the first time into another country: One year he played for the Under-20-team from Malmö (SWE), scoring 16 points in 32 games.

Then Ziga Grahut signed for the Moser Medical Graz99ers. For the Styrians the defender played 2009/10 53 games in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga, scoring it five points. In the past season Grahut did not make it into the first team of Graz99ers. After nine games for the second team of the Moser Medical Graz99ers therefore the defender moved to ATSE Graz. For ATSE Graz he made another 32 games in the Austrian Nationalliga and came up with ten points.
