Newcomer HC Orli Znojmo starts on Tuesday (17:30) with a test match against SK Horacka Slavia Trebic hockey season 2011/12: Plus: Capitals welcome forward Filip Gunnarsson (SWE) for a try-out in Vienna.

After 110 days without ice hockey games newcomer HC Orli Znojmo starts on Tuesday (17:30) the ice hockey season 2011/12. The Eagles host in their first pre-season-game SK Horacka Slavia Trebic.

Since one week the team of Karel Soudek is already back on the ice and prepare intensively for their first year in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. The 47-year-old Czech sees the friendly game as a first positioning: "The mood in our team is very good. We are on ice already since July 25. Currently over 30 players - including many young cracks - are training with the team. All the guys are really looking forward to the first game. However, on Tuesday, not all will play. Against Trebic the Youngsters get their chance to show what they can!"

Soudek, who was engaged as a player in the early 90s for a few seasons also in Graz, thinks that the first opponent is on one level with this team: "Trebic has roughly our level. They also have a young team. In the past season we have won three of four matches", reported Soudek.

In the net will start latest edition Lukas Sablik. Captain of the Eagles is forward Radek Haman.

One week after HC Orli Znojmo EV Vienna Capitals started today their ice practice. Head Coach Tommy Samuelsson has welcomed all his new players and with Filip Gunnarsson (SWE) also a new Try-out-candidate. The 20-year-old forward played last season in the second Swedish league for Bofors (30 games - one Assist) and in the third Swedish League for Skåre BK (four games - one goal) and latest for Asplöven HC (18 games, four points).

Gunnarsson started his career at Färjestad, where Tommy Samuelsson was Head Coach in the last five years. The striker is regarded as a hard worker and agile skater.
