Black Wings complete 2011/12-Roster!
EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz have agreed terms with 26-years-old Forward Danny Irmen. The US-American arrives from HC Bolzano. Back-up-Goalie Lorenz Hirn stays on, completing the Linz roster. In Graz, it’s comeback time for Cole Jarrett while Jesenice extend their cooperation with Miha Brus.
EHC Liwest Black Wings Linz have completed their roster for the upcoming season. Having featured in 335 games for the Houston Aeros, Irmen is a known quality for Headcoach Rob Daum. Irmen, who was born in Fargo, North Dakota, was selected by the Minnesota Wild in the third round of the NHL–entry draft in 2003, but his appearances in the world’s best league remained scarce: After two games in the 2009/10-season without points, Irmen had seen enough and made the switch across the pond, joining Serie-A-team HC Bolzano. He was a point-per-game player for the Italians, going 46-from-43 and is now ready for a new challenge. 6-foot-far Irmen can play in the center or on the wing, adding extra value to his scoring talents.Back-Up Goalie Lorenz Hirn has signed a contract extension, thus completing (barring injuries) the Black Wings Roster.
Meanwhile, HK Acroni Jesenice have agreed to a two-year-extension with Winger Miha Brus, a two-time Slovenian Champion, who scored five points last season.
Moser Medical Graz 99ers have picked up Defender Cole Jarrett. A former draft pick for the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2001, Jarrett heads back to Styria from Tohoku Free Blades, carrying a championship medal and the awards for most points (51) and most goals (18) for a Defenseman form last season. Having scored 1.5 points per game in the Asia League, Jarrett will surely come under close scrutiny by rival Erste Bank Eishockey Liga-clubs in their attempt to shut down the goal-scoring D-man.
