Medvescak sign Martinovic
KHL Medvescak Zagreb have signed 26-years-old Allrounder Sasa Martinovic from Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg. Adam Naglich, who spent the last two season with Marty Raymond at Bakersfield Condors, will have to prove his fitness in a try-out.
Newly appointed Headcoach Marty Raymond has – apparently not in hand luggage – brought 6‘1“-Forward Adam Naglich along from Bakersfield to Zagreb. The US-American has played in the ECHL with Bakersfield Condors in the past two seasons, scoring 91 points (34 goals) from 150 games. He was also called up to the ECHL All Star Team last season, too.
Medvescak’s coaching staff will have to wait and see whether Naglich, who’s a graduate of University of Alaska, can adapt to the different size of the rinks in Europe in the next few weeks. It’s his first spell at the other side of the pond.
DEL-Veteran joins
Another player has already agreed terms with the Bears: German Croat Sasa Martinovic hast spent the last seven Seasons in Germany’s top-flight DEL. 6’1”-Allrounder Martinovic, who was born in Fuessen, Germany has featured in 360 DEL-games, scoring 45 assists and nine goals in those seven seasons since he broke through the ranks and shone in the third-division play-offs with his youth team back in 2003/04. Albeit seldomly, the Defender has been used as a Forward by various Coaches (at Hamburg Freezers, Krefeld Pinguine, ERC Ingolstadt and – for the last two seasons - Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg) in the past, and therefore offers Marty Raymond much-desired flexibility in case of injuries or fatigue.
Both players are expected to touch down at Zracna Luka Airport at the end of July.
In related news, Marjan Manfreda has agreed to a two-year-contract extension at HK Acroni Jesenice yesterday, saying “I’ve got the best feeling at home and there are still amends to make for the past two seasons.”
