Fehervar signs two import players

SAPA Fehervar AV19 have strengthened their squad for next season by signing 32-year-old Swedish defender Johan Ejdepalm and 25-year-old American forward Jeff LoVecchio.

After starting his professional career at Providence Bruins in AHL and having an additional year in ECHL, Jeff LoVecchio made his first trip across the pond in 2012-13 when joining Italian side Alleghe. Last campaign the 25-year-old forward played in Norway for Lillehammer, where he gained 72 points (31 goals) in 57 games. As a result he was voted into the All-star team.

Swedish Johan Ejdepalm is the second new arrival who comes from the DEL. Last year he played for the Hamburg Freezers, earlier he laced his skates for three seasons each for Swedish SHL side Lulea and DEL team Munich. The 32-year-old defenseman has visited Székesfehérvár before and with his goal and assist Munich won the 2012 edition of the Gábor Ocskay Jr. Memorial Tournament. "We contacted these players based on the suggestions of our coaching staff and fortunately we were able to sign them very quickly", said general manager Gábor Ocskay.

In addition, some Austrian teams have added players in the recent days. EC-KAC signed former NHL forward Jean-Francois Jacques (CAN/29), while winger Ryan Duncan (CAN/28) returned to EC Red Bull Salzburg. Adam Miller is also back in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga, joining Dornbirner Eishockey Club who added defender Andy Sertich and goalie Mike Murphy too. Austrian national team defender Florian Iberer moved from south to east, transferring from Klagenfurt to UPC Vienna Capitals.
